each song is built around voice memos & audio from the day i took the picture; this day (10.8.2024) is less abt the specific day and more the entire winter season - i saw this view for weeks every time i left my best friends place. I'd always leave at like 2/3 in the morning and it was a block away from the strip so there would either be indescernable kicks going off in the distance, or complete silence and this icicle display the neighbor had would be the only movement at all. felt super liminal either way especially once the winter passed because the xmas lights were up til like march & eventually this giant bulldozer was just parked in their driveway essentially for weeks and i never saw it move. It was really cold like low 30's at the time so while i waited for my car to warm up i'd just watch the light display while the first song on my cd would play through and i listed to nick drake for the whole month basically. that friend moved away and now thinking back on it feels really romanticized and wistful on top of being objectively eerie.
